In the port version stages 1 – 3 are available from the start. Sets of stages on Chasm are unlocked by completed Missions/Awards associated with progressing through Campaign Mode and all stages in other difficulty levels are unlocked by beating the previous one. The regular stages are playable on three different difficulty settings. The player's rank, amount of BP and EXP earned is based on their performance. Up to ten of each kind of drop can be found which include weapons, custom parts, and illegal custom parts. At the end of each round, players will be awarded a rank, bonuses if the player has fulfilled their requirements, BP, EXP, and be shown what items they have picked up. Using a fully charged melee attack awards the player with a herb. Stages will be cleared when the player reaches the end and melee attacks the gold BSAA emblem. Each character has a unique set of voice clips and their own phrasing for each command. On the ports, it is done by holding down what would normally be the Genesis button then using the face buttons. On the 3DS version, this is done by holding up on the control pad and then pressing one of the face buttons.
